Bruno Dimino is a guitarist, arranger and educator based in Japan since 2002. With more than 35 years of professional experience, he has performed extensively throughout Europe and Japan in the fields of Bebop, Modern Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, crossover projects, and international live entertainment. His musical universe is influenced by artists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Django Reinhardt, and the contemporary jazz tradition.

After many years dedicated to Gypsy Jazz and acoustic jazz projects, Bruno recorded his original composition album “Great Days,” featuring internationally renowned accordionist Marcel Loeffler among other musicians. In recent years, he progressively returned to his primary artistic direction centered around Modern Jazz, improvisation, and contemporary jazz performance.

Performing Career

As a performer, Bruno has worked continuously throughout Japan since 2002, appearing in jazz clubs, luxury hotels, restaurants, concert venues, corporate events, embassies, and private functions in cities such as Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo.

From 2004 to 2020, Bruno performed regularly at major international hotels in Tokyo, beginning his journey at the Park Hyatt Tokyo before becoming one of the long-standing jazz guitarists associated with the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. During this period, he performed extensively at the hotel’s well-known venues including “The French Kitchen” and “The Oak Door,” as well as numerous private events, receptions, and ballroom performances. Over the years, he collaborated with musicians and performers from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and international scenes.

Alongside jazz performances, Bruno has also participated in numerous crossover, international, and entertainment-oriented projects requiring flexibility across different musical styles, performance environments, and audiences.

Artistic Direction & Music Management

From 2005 to June 2026, Bruno served as President of Rainbow Music Office, a Tokyo-based music agency and production office. Through Rainbow Music Office, he produced and coordinated a large number of live music events, hotel performances, corporate events, weddings, private functions, luxury brand events, and international entertainment projects throughout Tokyo and across Japan.

During this period, he collaborated with hundreds of professional musicians and worked with major hotels, restaurants, international companies, embassies, fashion brands, automobile companies, cosmetic brands, and cultural institutions. His work combined artistic direction, musician management, event coordination, band organization, and live entertainment production.

Education & Pedagogy

Since 2022, Bruno has also been working as a Music Teacher at Shinagawa International School in Tokyo within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). He teaches students from diverse international backgrounds through classes focused on music performance, ensemble work, improvisation, composition, ear training, music history, intercultural musical understanding, and music technology.

His pedagogical approach combines professional stage experience with creative artistic development, encouraging students to build both technical skills and artistic identity while exploring a broad range of musical traditions and contemporary artistic approaches.

Musical Education & Early Career

Bruno began studying guitar seriously at the age of 14. He studied jazz arrangement, orchestration, and jazz history at the University of Music of Aix-Marseille, as well as at C.M.C.N. in Nancy, a French campus affiliated with the Los Angeles Musicians Institute, where he attended workshops and masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians including Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Louis Winsberg, and others. He also studied at the Conservatories of Metz and Strasbourg.

Starting in 1992, Bruno developed his professional career throughout Europe, performing in a wide range of musical environments and collaborative projects. During this period, he toured extensively, participated in original music projects, and developed both his performance and teaching activities.

From 1994 to 2002, Bruno taught jazz guitar, classical guitar, ear training, and solfège both privately and in music schools.

After relocating to Japan in 2002, Bruno expanded his activities as both performer and music agent. His musical activities were featured in Japanese media and magazines, and he also appeared on Japanese television programs including NHK’s “French Lesson” (“France-go Kaiwa”), as well as commercials for SHISEIDO “UNO” and Ricola Candy as singer and performer.

Today, Bruno continues his activities independently as a guitarist, bandleader, and educator, performing throughout Japan in a wide variety of musical and artistic projects.

ブルーノ・ディミノ

ブルーノ・ディミノは、2002年より日本を拠点に活動するギタリスト、アレンジャー、音楽教育者です。

35年以上にわたりプロフェッショナル・ミュージシャンとして活動し、ヨーロッパおよび日本を中心に、ビバップ、モダンジャズ、ジプシージャズ、クロスオーバープロジェクト、国際的なライブエンターテインメントなど、多彩なフィールドで演奏を重ねてきました。

その音楽性は、カート・ローゼンウィンケル、パット・メセニー、ジョン・スコフィールド、マイク・スターン、チャーリー・パーカー、ジョン・コルトレーン、ジャンゴ・ラインハルトらに大きな影響を受けており、伝統的なジャズと現代ジャズを融合させた独自のスタイルを追求しています。

長年にわたりジプシージャズやアコースティックジャズを中心に活動した後、自身のオリジナル作品を収録したアルバム『Great Days』を発表。世界的アコーディオン奏者マルセル・ロフラーをはじめとする国際的なミュージシャンとの共演を実現しました。近年は、自身の原点であるモダンジャズ、即興演奏、コンテンポラリー・ジャズを軸とした音楽活動に力を注いでいます。

演奏活動

2002年の来日以来、日本全国で継続的に演奏活動を行い、ジャズクラブ、高級ホテル、レストラン、コンサートホール、企業イベント、大使館、公的レセプション、プライベートイベントなど、幅広いステージに出演しています。

活動地域は東京をはじめ、横浜、大阪、名古屋、福岡、札幌など全国各地に及びます。

2004年から2020年までの16年間、東京を代表するラグジュアリーホテルでレギュラー演奏を担当。パーク ハイアット 東京での活動を経て、グランド ハイアット 東京では長年にわたりジャズギタリストとして出演し、「The French Kitchen」「The Oak Door」をはじめとするレストラン、レセプション、ボールルームイベントなど数多くのステージで演奏を行いました。

これまで国内外の多彩なミュージシャンと共演し、ジャズのみならず、クロスオーバー、ポップス、ラテン、エンターテインメントショーなど、さまざまな音楽シーンにおいて柔軟な演奏スタイルを培っています。

音楽プロデュース・マネジメント

2005年から2026年6月まで、東京を拠点とする音楽プロダクション「Rainbow Music Office」の代表を務めました。

同社では、高級ホテルでのライブ演奏、企業イベント、ウェディング、プライベートパーティー、ラグジュアリーブランドイベント、国際レセプションなど、多数の音楽イベントを企画・制作・運営。

これまで数百名を超えるプロミュージシャンと協働し、高級ホテル、レストラン、国際企業、大使館、ファッションブランド、自動車メーカー、化粧品ブランド、文化機関など、多様なクライアントとのプロジェクトに携わりました。

音楽監督、ミュージシャン・マネジメント、イベントコーディネート、バンド編成、ライブエンターテインメント制作など、幅広い分野で経験を積んでいます。

音楽教育

2022年より、東京・Shinagawa International Schoolにて、国際バカロレア（IB）Middle Years Programme（MYP）の音楽教師として勤務しています。

演奏、アンサンブル、即興演奏、作曲、イヤートレーニング、音楽史、異文化理解、音楽テクノロジーなど、多面的な音楽教育を実践し、多国籍な生徒たちの創造性と表現力を育む指導を行っています。

ステージで培った実践的な経験と教育を融合させ、技術だけでなく、一人ひとりが自分自身の音楽的アイデンティティを育てられるような学びを大切にしています。

音楽との歩み

14歳より本格的にギターを学び始め、フランスのエクス＝マルセイユ大学でジャズアレンジ、オーケストレーション、ジャズ史を学びました。

その後、ロサンゼルスのMusicians Institute提携校であるフランス・ナンシーのC.M.C.N.にて研鑽を積み、パット・メセニー、ジョン・スコフィールド、ルイ・ウィンスバーグら世界的ミュージシャンによるマスタークラスやワークショップにも参加しました。また、メス音楽院およびストラスブール音楽院でも学んでいます。

1992年よりヨーロッパ各地でプロ活動を開始し、ライブツアー、オリジナルプロジェクト、教育活動など幅広い経験を積みました。

1994年から2002年までは、ジャズギター、クラシックギター、ソルフェージュ、イヤートレーニングを音楽学校および個人レッスンで指導。

2002年の来日後は演奏家としての活動に加え、音楽プロデューサーとしても活動の幅を広げ、日本の音楽誌や各種メディアで紹介されました。また、NHK『フランス語会話』への出演をはじめ、SHISEIDO「UNO」、Ricola CandyなどのテレビCMでは演奏者・シンガーとして出演しています。

現在はギタリスト、バンドリーダー、アレンジャー、音楽教育者として、日本全国で演奏活動を続けるとともに、多様な音楽プロジェクトに取り組んでいます。
